    welcome to our table

    Dual-concept,
    modern hospitality

A day-time cafe (Mr.Seto) and intimate, playful evening dining experience (SETO). Inspired by the warmth of the late Jin Seto's greetings, the heart and leadership of
Steve Clarke and the rich history of all of the hospitality moments this space has hosted.

Two families have helped to nurture the community through

    thisspace for a century :

    The Setos: Star cafe, Shangri-la 1930's - early 1990's

The Clarkes (French): Brewery Bay Food Co, Seto 1993 - present

You can feel the magic here.

Gordon Lightfoot started doing gigs at 'The Shang'.

Terry Fox stopped in for some Seto hospitality during his
    run across Canada.

This building has been a long standing vibrant hub for Orillia's beautiful and bustling downtown - we hope to continue that legacy.

(p.s. ask about the cold tea)

This Is How We Do It

Our space is a reflection of a combined 70 years of hospitality experience.

Kim Haugen, Executive chef - Filipino born, Australian raised and internationally trained. He combines his roots and experience to bring playful, creative dishes to both the cafe and evening dining experiences.

Kaylee Clement, Sommelier + COO, and Jenna French (ne Clarke) CEO, worked their first job together in this building from 2004-2013. Kaylee never left hospitality. She trained in the wine world and did leadership stints in fine-dining establishments in Toronto (most recently - Bar Prima). Jenna went off to university, saw the world and eventually and sure-footedly returned to the family business to open her own restaurant, Rustica Pizza Vino, in 2016 (our sister restaurant, located directly across the road). She also took over her parents' beloved Brewery Bay Food Company which now resides at 132 Mississaga Street East.

Thank you for letting us take care of you.
